Fighting in the Dark

Has anyone else noticed that while in the dark you can activate your torch, strike, and then deactivate it before the enemy attacks giving them a darkness penalty? I couldn't find this info anywhere else and wondered if anyone else has had success doing this.

I'm new to the game and forum and this is my first post. Everyone seems to be very helpful while keeping the spoilers to a minimum. Makes the game more fun.

Are you hitting the "T" (for "Torch") key to accomplish this?

If so - yes, it's a known bug, that will probably get fixed with the coming v1.05...

yeah i used to do this back when i was playing book 1 it was really helpful with hiding in shadows but in book 2 i noticed that hiding in shadows doesn't work exactly the same
