My kingdom for an apple [possible spoiler]

Post by yaymichael »

Hey all -

I up to the point where I need to go through the south gate to find the giants and the fourth goblin key. I gather I can go through the Tangletree Ossuary, however I can't find an apple for the puzzle! Does anyone happen to know where I can find one? I did have about 3 of 4 which I found somewhere, but I ate them when I was bored. The female shopkeeper in Bordertown seems to sell food, but I've been waiting for a while and the stock hasn't recycled. I can't remember if the innkeeper in Aridell sold food, because he died by salamander earlier in the game.

Otherwise, how can I get through the Southern Gate? Apparently there was a key in Darkford, but I can't back in after being in once already to talk to the Captain.

Thanks for reading my tale of woe, it's getting a bit frustrating.

Innkeepers are usually the best source and the one in Aridell always seems to have them, yaymichael. If you can't find someone selling them, you'll have to wait till one turns up in a chest, barrel or drop.

Time (i.e. days and nights - I think 3 days has been quoted round here before now) has to pass before shopkeepers restock. Just constantly going back to them won't make any difference.

How did the innkeeper in Aridell get killed by a salamander? His door normally shuts automatically after you go through it.

But you don't need to solve the chests puzzle to get through the Ossuary - keep looking around.

Edit: developing your Cartographic skill may help finding routes in dungeons.

Thanks for the tips - I think the innkeeper got cheesed off at me for some reason, and chased me outside. Eventually I came back into town running away from monsters, and he bought the farm. It's annoying that you can't persuade them to forgive you, it would be better if just the town guards came after you.

The innkeeper in Aridell probably saw you looting the drawer in the room.

Have you tried the innkeeper in darkwater? He has some good stuff sometimes.

Apparently you can get NPCs to forgive you by casting Charm on them, yaymichael.
