will not load error message

i purchased book II from steam when i load the game i get

"WINDOWS EXCEPTION"

"EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION"

i close the tab and nothing happens. game will not boot up?
any suggestions ? i have windows 7
new computer old gamer

Make sure you are running the games as administrator.

Try shutting down some background processes that may be causing issues with EB2. You may need to update graphics drivers, or update OpenAl drivers.
