The two "magic-based" classes...

Post by Artius »

It seems to me that the distinction between the two magic using classes (MagickUser and Healer) really aren't that great. Sure, they are split right down the middle with the two distinct skills, spell inventories and critical stat (wisdom vs. Intelligence), but the whole thing seems kind of arbitrary to me.

Was there ever any thought to just having one "MagickUser" class, and maybe promoting "Alchemist" to a top-level class or something?

I think you would end up with more gameplay variety by pronouncing the two types of magic that are actually different, vs. introducing two classes that are so similar in concept.
