Main Starting Location in Book 3

Post by deathknight1728 »

Well Book 1 was in the forests of Thaeremore, Book 2 was in Mistfell (haven't finished it yet) so the question is where do you think/want the next book to be in?

Note the only thing that sucks is that there's only 3 books so we won't get to go to all areas.

That aside, I would say that if I had my 2 choices of where book 3 takes place, they would be-

Norland-1, as its got the natural survival aspect I love from these games. And Barrea-2, as the supposed fastest fighters live there. (strength and speed bonuses).

Other than that, I don't know much about Amireth to give it a fair chance, and Wylderan I know even less about. Anyone have any other thoughts about where they'd like book 3 to be?

When you finish Book II, you'll have a pretty good clue about where at least the start of Book III will be set. :)

That said, I expect we'll be doing a lot of traveling.

When it's all over you wake up in your home in Thaeremore and find you spent the night in a drinking contest with Captain Morgan. :)

I hope were all aware that the Norland and Barrean regions will be left unoccupied in any of the eschalon games. That would only mean that if anything, if another game is made in the eschalon universe.....

I say we wake up in either Wylderan/Fandugan or Mirland. That would make sense. And that we will be travelling to Barrea, because that's where the Barrean warlord is.

My guess is Mirland because it is the most southerly region and more likely to be tropical. Based on the Book II ending we are looking at a steamy jungle.

Can't comment too much here, other than...

- Yes, Book III takes place in the "undeveloped" areas seen on the Book II map. There are some minor geographical updates to those areas, as you will see when we release the Book III full map.

- Mirland is now Mirkland. Always was. An apprentice cartographer who compiled the first map from Captain Hale's sketches misread his notes.

- There will be a very large, full detailed, limited edition map available for purchase when Book III is released. This will be a decorative wall map, and will have all the detail you will need to play all three games with. This map will actually contain details that are not ever addressed in the three games. A digital version of this map will still be available inside the installation folder, just like in previous games.

Which reminds me - where is our revised Eschalon world map from BW?! :|

And while I wrote this...

The t-shirt didn't pan out too well. To do a limited run was expensive and we had to make a couple hundred to get the price low enough, and to carry enough sizes for everyone. Coupled with the fact that we didn't get a big response, means it just didn't happen.

The map, however, has a lower run requirement and we don't have to worry about carrying different sizes. Any leftovers can easily be given away as promotional items.

Well, not "wall sized", but a wall map - a large poster-sized map meant to be hung on a wall.

I don't have actual dimensions yet. As soon as we finalize Book III's map (yes, it is still evolving) the company we are working with will look it over and send us a few samples to choose from.

Is the map going to include the "Here be dragons" with a portrait of Dragonlady?
