Game Editor

So, I remember reading that around the same time you release EBIII, you should release a game editor, to see what awesome stories and stuff we can make with it :D

I have a few questions about the engine, and how much we can twaek it.

Things I'm most interested with, can we put triggers based on the character, like it's sex, it's skills, it's characteristics, or it's class ?

BW has said he will put an editor with Book III. Something to look forward to. As to your other question, you'll have to wait for that answer. :)

Keep in mind that you can do some things right now for Books I and II with xolotl's editor: http://apocalyptech.com/eschalon/

The scripting support allows you to check a few attributes, like gold, HP, MP, having an item in inventory, having a quest, etc. See http://apocalyptech.com/eschalon/b2scripting.php

I'm also very interested in the upcoming Book III and its editing tools. I was wondering about the extent to which the game can be edited. As far as I'm aware, there has been no official word yet on the editing capabilities of the Book III engine, and it's perfectly understandable if BasiliskWrangler wants to withhold the details for now.

I'll just say that if we'll be able to create stand-alone adventures with a completely new story, new maps, quests, NPCs, dialogs, then I'll be very happy. The ability to use custom tile graphics and creature animations, too, would be a wonderful plus.

At any rate, I'm really looking forward to Book III, and I keep checking the forums and the Twitter feed for news more often than I should. But it is very exciting. :D

Thanks for the links SpottedShroom !
There are some great things, but some of the things I was searching for are missing. I hope we can meddle with more things with the editor when it's out.
