odd destroyer ending

I Killed all the Spire Guards but the chancellor is still there??

This is a bug. Look in the destroyer thread for some screen shots of some people who have used this bug.

Basically, if you put the crux on the pedestal before killing all the guards, the chancellor comes back.

there is one more strange thing:
on one of my latest destroyer runs, I killed the chancellor, then most of the guards, then set the crux on its place (knowing the chancellor will be there again, but soon to be mysteriously disappearing ... with my help - to be the new chancellor myself... ), sneaked past the last guard to the chancellor and SUPRISE: another full batch of guards popped up (saying you hear a door open and...)

the strange thing is, now a guard appears right behind the chancellor and killed him within the next round !!

is this the mysterious general from book II ? - can't be, because actually I killed him too and most of the new guards and got the destroyer message before all guards were "done"
(possible when I killed the last from the "first batch")

'must rework that ending (run out of mana and demon oil always....)
