Re: Question About Steam, And New (Mac) Games...
Selling games always seemed like such an interesting profession. I mean, if it's the 10% of the games which actually turn a profit, it's only the question of choosing the right ones to sell, right?

Re: Ultima Forever
It does look interesting doesn't it? And the kickstarter is at the moment already at $257,163 (I have to admit I chipped in) just a few hours from his presentation.
I think the presentation concentrated too much on the personal exploits of the man himself. I mean I love the guy, he is the founding ...

Re: Ultima Forever
Ultima Forever is going to be iOS only, initially. Other platforms may be considered later, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Richard Garriot on the other hand, is most likely to develop for PC and possibly for mac and Linux. Based on the domain name I'm guessing his announcement is related to his ...

Re: Ultima Forever
Well it looks like the Ultima Forever is going to be more iphone & ipad game than a regulard pc rpg. But luckily Richard Garriot seems to have something in his sleeve. http://www.lordbritishpresents.com/
I don't even care about the games anymore. The waiting is so much better.

Re: I am in awe over these games
Just out of curioisity, what is it about turn based, single player games that makes them stand out?
Is it just the fact that you control the pace, or is the content different? Could you play a turn based super mario game for an example?

Re: Ultima Forever
I have nostalgic memories playing EXULT Ultima VII about a decade ago I think. It's funny how the nostalgy thing works sometimes.

Ultima Forever
I just recently found out EA has been developing another Ultima game, Ultima Forever ( http://ultimaforever.com/ ). It will be a "free to play" multiplayer game for PC and iPad. I'm a long time fan of the single player games, and did play the online game briefly. I know many die-hard fans already ...

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Well. The demo starts with a tutorial mission which basicly forces you to move and shoot exactly as instructed which is quite frustrating since you can't skip it. You can move moer freely in the second half of the demo. The art style is a bit too cartoonish to my taste, although that has been the ...

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
A demo is available at steam. I have to say I'm disappointed. Too much holding hand, and the mission in the demo was very tightly scripted. I didn't really like the artistical style either. It seemed primarily a console game.
Some hope still exists. The demo was really short and did not really ...

I played through the original very recently (first time I actually made it to the end) so I'm quite happy to see something new coming up.

Re: Is it just me or do indies rock?
I think for each good indie game there must be a lot of bad ones, majority of which are never completed or realeased.
Even the ones that are good can seem unappealing first, until you scratch below the surface. I originally downloaded Book 1 demo when it was realeased and while I did enjoy the ...
