I cant seem to open the manual pdf file so.. how do you pick locks ? I kinda figured out how to break things though

When i launch the game i get this message:

Error: Unable to create Saved Games directory in C:/Nik/>8 4>:C<5=BK/Eschalon Book 1 Saved Games/

I tried to create a folder named "Eschalon Book 1 Saved Games" but i couldnt follow that path, cause there is no folder named ">8 4>:C<5=BK".

Help me please ...
