Re: Why do you enjoy Rolling to determine character attribut
Which is fine with me, for myself at that point I pull out the hex editor and pretty much skip the roll process.
That's a very interesting approach. I might consider doing that myself. I'd have to determine some house rules for deciding what would be the default minimum & maxium stats, and the ...

Re: Why do you enjoy Rolling to determine character attribut
Why do people play games like Diablo non-stop and for years on end when all they're doing is killing enemies while looking for better weapons and armor? Most of the weapons and armor are just rehashed versions of themselves with slightly better stats. Same for the enemies.
Why do people play ...

Why do you enjoy Rolling to determine character attributes?
I was building a new character in Eschalon the other night whom was intended to go for the Jack of All trades achivement, and also played in a manner suitable for such a character. In order for such a character to be effective I'm under the impression that it's rather important to attempt to make ...

Re: Book II Game Rules: Hit or Miss?
I like all the rules and would like a lot more. I still don't understand not being able to load the game though. It's not like you can load the game during battle after a save, cause you can't save during battle. Suppose I'm just missing something.
I suppose it encourages you to continue playing ...

Re: What's missing??
I would actually argue that maintaining the game's balance is of utmost importance. Whether that is through limiting how many rings and necklaces the character can use, or ensuring that all skills and abilities have their place and use. Because Balance relates to maintaining a stable difficulty ...

There is a way to get to it. You might have to get your hands a bit bloodied to do so however.

Re: Skill System Feedback: Books and Trainers
While it's possible to wait until the trainers, most players won't go that route. It requires prior knowledge of where to go and a way into Port Kuudad. Then you have to raise money to pay the 3600 per trainer per skill. Even few players are going to want to sit there and farm food to raise the ...

Re: Skill System Feedback: Books and Trainers
Hey Bernie, you never mentioned you had a brother!
Heh, I had no idea that this had already been discussed. I suppose I should've thought as much though: Given that I considered it an issue, it is likely that many others do too.
Didn't know I had a twin brother though. That's awesome... Well ...

Skill System Feedback: Books and Trainers
I believe the skill system in Eschalon Book: II has considerable potential as a tool that allows gamers to create exactly the kind of character that they want to play. It is a flexible system that easily allows you to weave aspects of different abilities together, and use them in ways that ...

Devilmander Graphical Anomaly
I notice some minor graphical anomalies on the Devilmander sprite. There's a few pixels towards the left edge, top edge, and right edge of the image that briefly flashes during the the Devilmander's "move west animation", and a similar few pixels that flashes towards the top edge during it's "move ...

Re: Purpose of the lever in khudad sewers (spoilers)
I actually just opens the way back out again. An iron grate dropped down behind you when you entered that area, blocking you inside with the assassins. That lever raises the grate back up again.
