Does malice damage apply to spells as well as normal combat attacks?

I have been trying to see if my nefarious magic user can get a malice damage bonus but so far no luck...

Unfortunately it seems like Eschalon don't play nicely with other applications that use sound, so you will have to disable all sound-using things like aRts.

Yikes, I have several dozen processes in my process table and aside from things like aRts, Kaffeine, and Amarok, I'm not sure which of them ...
